What we collect, and why.

Written for parents, in plain language. This page describes how Dreamie works today. It is not legal advice.

Draft — to be checked by a lawyer before launch.

Who is responsible

[Company name, address and KvK number — to be added before launch], based in the Netherlands, decides how your data is used.

What you give us

To write a story we use what you type into the story form: your child's first name or nickname, their age, the interests and theme you pick, the story length and accent, and a short note about their day if you add one.

If you create an account, we also store your email address (or your Google sign-in), the child profiles you add (first name, age, interests) and the stories you save.

What we record automatically

  • Usage events: which steps are used, for example "story made", "story saved" or "audio started", with the page path and, if you're signed in, your account id. These never include your child's name or story text.
  • Story limit: to stop misuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for up to two days, so we can count how many stories you make per day.

Why we use it

To write and show the story you asked for, to keep your library if you have an account, to prevent misuse, and to understand which parts of Dreamie work. We don't use your data for advertising and don't sell it.

Who processes your data

  • Story writing: the Lovable AI Gateway sends the story details to a Google Gemini model.
  • Narrator voice (Plus): the Lovable AI Gateway sends the story text, including your child's first name, to an OpenAI text-to-speech model.
  • Hosting, accounts and database: Lovable Cloud.
  • Google sign-in: Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

These providers may process data outside the EU, including in the United States. If we add a payment provider when Dreamie Plus opens, we will list it here first.

AI voice

The narrator is an AI-generated voice, not a recording of a real person. The audio is sent straight to your browser and Dreamie does not store it.

How long we keep it

  • Stories made without an account are not stored by Dreamie after they are shown.
  • Account data, child profiles and saved stories: until you delete them or your account.
  • Story-limit records: up to two days.
  • Usage events: until you delete your account. [A fixed retention period will be set before launch.]

Browser storage and cookies

If you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Usage events are stored in our own database.

Your choices

In your library you can export your data as a file, delete stories and child profiles, and delete your whole account. You can also write to privacy@dreamiestories.com (this address will be set up before launch) or use the contact page. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Please don't share sensitive details

Please don't enter health details, addresses, schools or surnames. Anything you type can end up in the story text that is sent to our providers.

Sharing

Nothing about your child is public. A story is only shared if you choose to share it.

Children

Dreamie is for adults to use for a child. Accounts are for adults only.
